As design trends go the use of wood grain effect porcelain tiles in New Zealand bathrooms has really taken off.
We have seen that the use of wood grain porcelain tiles has been growing more and more popular. Wood effect tiles are very complimentary when used along with the clean lines of modern wooden joinery in bathrooms and ensuites, they lend a natural warmth that provides a bridge between the two materials. The overall aesthetic is a break from urbane and somewhat austere industrial aesthetic of bathrooms tiled from floor to ceiling.
The long horizontal shape of the plank tiles adds to the effect of planks of wood. The emphasis these tiles give to simple geometry and horizontal lines has the effect of opening up interior spaces in a way that feels harmonious .
